Ladies and Gentlemen, George Fulginiti-Shakir.

Today is George Day.

Above you will see a lovely photo of our music director, George, wearing one of the many dog hats we actors wear in our big doggie soft shoe production number (did I mention you don't want to miss this one?). George just came back from Sri Lanka where he built houses with Habitat for Humanity for the people who lost their homes in the tsunami. George likes the mini bananas people eat in Sri Lanka. The original name of the country Sri Lanka was Serendip, and that is where we get the word Serendipity (George taught me that). George got to go in the room where they keep the Buddha's tooth in seven caskets and a box that takes three keys to open it. George likes yoga. I like George.

George quotes from today's music rehearsal:

-This cast comes pre-lubricated!
-Hold the but(t). I want to make sure your bu(t) is secure. (We sing the word "but" a lot)
-Do you wanna just try something, with the possibility of total failure looming ever present?
-He's not available to sing harmonies, he's probably acting.
-Kegel muscles!!! (I'm not even going to explain the context...it's better that way)

August 31st, 2005 is officially George Fulginiti-Shakir Day.

Fiona enjoying her second cup of the day.

Second Day of Rehearsal

Today we had our second day of rehearsal at the Kennedy Center. Yesterday we had our costume fitting first thing. My (primary) costume is a bright pink sweater, purple jeans, and high-top pink Converse. Super duper girly costume...I looooove it. The above picture is of Fiona, our director's dog, drinking a cup of coffee. He brings her in every day to join us at rehearsal. She loves coffee (with cream and sugar, or black). After finishing the coffee she proceeds to chew up the cup into little pieces slowly and methodically. I supposed to concentrate while this is going on? It's no fair, she's too cute!!! She also likes drinking wine and beer, apparently. (Doggie rehab?)
