Thousand Oaks, CA

So we're in Thousand Oaks, about 45 minutes from LA. It's a clean cut, soccer mom kind of town. We had a day off yesterday which was just a trip to the mall and a nice nap, and a microwave dinner (gotta love having a grocery store right across the street and a microwave in the hotel room!).

This morning we had two shows, and the kids were the perfect age to be seeing this show...about 6ish, 7ish...laughing, chanting, squeeling...loving every minute of it. We made our way back to the hotel and then headed to the local strip mall with the Marshall's, Old Navy, etc. I bought some essentials (okay maybe not ESSENTIALS...but you know how I feel about tank tops :). Then...I had a visitor!!! Mr. Brian Cali from the east coast is going to UCLA, rockin the opera world there...and he drove to Thousand Oaks from West Hollywood, we had dinner, chatted about old times. During dinner I had a weird "bizzaro world" moment, sitting at a restaurant with my friend from the east coast, in California. It felt strange and displaced, but it was also a great feeling to be visiting with a good friend and eating good food. Thank you for making the trip out, Brian :).

Tomorrow it's two more shows and a drive to Irvine...
