Indian Summer

Unlike Davis, San Luis Obispo (or SLO) is in the midst of an Indian Summer. In Davis, we would collectively grab our sweaters, scarves and jackets for a trip to dinner, for when the sun went down it got mighty chilly. The air remains warm here in the evening, and coats and scarves are more of an accessory than a necessity. Who knows how much longer it will last, but we were lucky to experience any of it. My toes are happy to still be free of closed toed shoes as we head towards the middle of October.

We had two shows yesterday, pretty much back to back, and the kids were quite rambunctious (in the best way). After the shows, laundry was a must. Some people went to the beach, and I had to decline, so you KNOW I was in desperate need of some clean underwear if I missed a trip to the beach! The trip to the local laudromat swallowed up a good two hours of the day (as it always does). But clean clothes help to maintain a clear head, so it's definitely worth it.

Jordan and I took a stroll downtown to do some shopping, and when we hit the main street of downtown we noticed some of the BBQ tables being set up for the evening's events. EVERY Thursday night in SLO there is a farmer's market/street fair/BBQ extravaganza! The whole town, and people from neighboring towns, swarm the streets after the sun goes down to enjoy fresh produce from local farmers, BBQ from the local restaurants, and street entertainment such as bands, jugglers, and more. There were tables set up from all the local organizations, which I enjoyed interacting with very much (see above pics). Ashley found some BBQ she loved, I had a mondo buritto, and we all had some cookies...And then we strolled home to the sounds of Patrick singing "I'm the kind of guy, who loom day doom day doom, la da da da da da, I la dome dome dom dom....The call me the wanderer, oh the wanderer....dum dum dum dum dum dum dum..." ahh...what a night....

Today, two more shows! And maybe a lay out at the pool... As Patty O, my lil bro, would say: Man, tour is rough.
