Indi, Indiana

I have come to realize that an actor on tour bases his or her opinion of a particular hotel primarily on whether the hotel in question has a tasty, hearty, and (this is the most important word now) FREE breakfast. Does that breakfast include only bagels, muffins, and the occasional banana? Or do they have all those things plus eggs, biscuits, a variety of different coffee flavors and potencies, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, and oh yes...the essential packets of smucker's peanut butter which inevitably tend to end up in our backpacks and purses and into the van for later consumpsion.

This morning I couldn't sleep because I was super hungry (the culprit was lack of a bedtime snack the night before), so I opened my door to find beneath my feet a complimentary USA today, and travelled downstairs to enjoy a complimentary (and awesome) breakfast. I made a PB and J for later, and went to get ready to go.

We departed for Indi at 10am, and arrived around 11:15 central time...easy peasy. We checked into the hotel and hit the road for some lunch...while everyone who was hungry went into the Panera, Jordan, Ashley and I journeyed into Trader Joe's to have a look around. As I brought my Odwalla bars and microwavable Indian dinner to the check-out counter, I noticed a tiny ball of fur in the arms of the woman in the line next to ours...me and Jordan enjoyed some doggie love, and I got a nice kiss on the lips :) (see above pics).

We dropped some people back at the hotel, and then Patrick, Jordan, Ashley and I went to the Salvation Army Thrift Store...there was much fun to be had with the halloween costume rack (see above pics).

We had a two hour tech call to sound check the mics at 4pm...the theater is gorgeous...huge...about the size of the kennedy center opera house. Hearing our music pumped through the sound system, our voices amplified, and seeing our set up in lights is simply wonderful! This show is going to be great...I cannot wait.

We came back to the hotel, all pumped to hit the Indianapolis nightlife (what there is of it--we had big plans of bowling and pizza), only to face a huge rain and wind storm as we tried to depart to our sacred vans. We opted for the hotel restaurant, a game of pool, and a sit in the jacuzzi which ended up being a very nice evening. So glad George could join us!!! (Quote of the day: "He has "work" to do." Man...I don't think I've laughed so hard in quite a while...) Tomorrow is a 10 out of 12 (for non theater peeps...that means we have a 12 hour day, and we work 10 of it! woo hoo!!! Gotta love tech week). Alrighty, time for bed...the roomie and I are getting up to workout in the morn!!! (or at least that's what we like to say).
